Dana-Maria Faneker
VR Coach
The Netherlands
In 2015, Dana-Maria Faneker, the founder of CaptainVR, was the first coach in the Netherlands to work with Virtual Reality, there were no VR Apps for coaching at the time, so she had to develop her own VR Apps. In 2016 Dana-Maria won the prize for the best VR idea in the Netherlands, ''the Samsung VR Challenge''. Since then, she has increasingly focused on stress management through VR and biofeedback.
Because VR Apps are expensive to develop, she got the idea to involve other coaches, trainers, and therapists. However, most people didn't seem to have insight into how to work with VR and new technology. This is how the CaptainVR training institute was created in 2016. In addition to giving workshops, training, and education to coaches, trainers, innovation managers, therapists, youth services, healthcare personnel, and psychologists, she also ensured effective implementation at various institutions and organizations around new technology. To make the adoption of new technology as effective, fun, and accessible as possible.
CaptainVR's mission is to develop interactive XR experiences to boost people & organizations with self-development and coaching purposes. So that they can practice, learn, and develop in a safe, fun, and interactive environment. So that people become the masters of their lives and can reach their full potential. Hence the name CaptainVR
